She then pursued her legal education at Georgetown University Law Center and graduated magna cum laude with her Juris Doctor in 1978. While in law school, she served on the Executive Editorial Board of the American Criminal Law Review.Â
Board-certified as a specialist in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Steinfield has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America consistently since 2003 for her work in the field. Furthermore, D Magazine listed her in its Best Women Lawyers in Dallas list as well as named her the Best Lawyer for Labor & Employment Law. She was also selected as a "Leader in the Field" of labor and employment law by Chambers USA.Â
A well-regarded professional, Ms. Steinfield is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Dallas Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. She holds memberships in the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the American Employment Law Council. Moreover, she has actively contributed to the American Bar Association and has held several leadership positions in the organization.Â

Early in her career, Ms. Steinfield served as the staff attorney at the National Labor Relations Board – Division of Advice in Washington D.C. She is a board member of the City of Dallas Community Police Oversight Board, the Anti-Defamation League – Dallas and the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation.
