Bill S. Richmond

Bill S. Richmond is a highly knowledgeable civil trial attorney serving clients in Dallas and Houston. One of the masterminds behind Platt Richmond PLLC in Dallas, Texas, he takes on business litigation, corporate matters and real estate cases.

With a background as managing partner and head of the firm’s Litigation Section, Mr. Richmond's skill lies in representing entrepreneurs and companies as outside general counsel. He is well-versed in media, health care and commercial real estate transactions. He works closely with owners and C-level executives, using legal strategies to help them reach their business goals. Before starting his own firm, he gained experience at an international defense firm and later at a business litigation boutique.

Mr. Richmond earned a J.D. cum laude from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law. During his time there, he demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership as the associate managing editor of the International Law Review Association and served as the chair of the Board of Advocates. Notably, he showcased his prowess in international law by clinching the championship title in the prestigious Thomas Tang International Moot Court Competition. Prior to law school, he obtained a B.A. from the University of Missouri.

For his professional accomplishments, Mr. Richmond has been included in the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch and the “Best Lawyers Under 40” by D Magazine. He is also a recipient of the Outstanding Mentor Award by Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Mizzou Alumni Association’s “G.O.L.D.” Volunteer Leader Award.  

The director of the Dallas Bar Association, Mr. Richmond is the former president of the Dallas Asian American Bar Association. He is also a part of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
