Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Lauten worked at three well-known law firms in Texas and gained extensive trial and appellate experience. He has handled hundreds of cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th and 8th Circuits and the appellate courts of Corpus Christi, Dallas, Texarkana, Fort Worth, Eastland, El Paso, San Antonio and Amarillo.

A published author, Mr. Lauten holds memberships and leadership positions in several professional associations. He is a part of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and the William Mac Taylor American Inn of Court. He frequently volunteers to provide pro bono services to those in need. He was part of the Trial Lawyers Care during the 9/11 terrorist attack.
