Concentrating on political science and public policy, Mr. Ayres completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000 at Southern Methodist University, where he was a part of Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key International Honour Society. He completed his legal education at Baylor Law School in 2002. While there, he was inducted into the Order of Barristers and served as the president of the Student Bar Association. Furthermore, he completed his certification as an emergency medical technician (EMT) at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he know serves as an appointed member of the faculty.

An active participant in community and pro bono activities, Mr. Ayres frequently lectures on topics related to his field and has authored several articles. He sits on the board of the Episcopal Foundation of Dallas, Episcopal Health Foundation, and the Friends of the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department – to name a few.
