Emily Copeland

Emily Copeland is a partner at Miller Copeland, LLP, based in Dallas, Texas. Her legal practice is primarily centered around personal injury lawsuits. Yet, she is also well-versed in managing cases related to construction defects, oil and gas disputes, contractual disagreements, and issues involving trucking or transportation companies, utility companies, construction sites, dangerous products, industrial accidents and sexual assaults.

Ms. Copeland graduated with a degree in journalism from The University of Oklahoma in 2014 and subsequently earned her Juris Doctor from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2017. The very next year, she was admitted to the State Bar of Texas, marking the commencement of her legal career. 

While at law school, Ms. Copeland held the prestigious position of editor-in-chief of the Administrative Law Journal. Moreover, she actively engaged in the Texas Tech Clinical Programs, providing pro bono legal services as a qualified student attorney for the Family Law and Housing Clinic.

Ms. Copeland’s passion for the legal field is deeply rooted in her family history; her great-grandfather notably acted as the county judge of Henderson County for two decades, which profoundly influenced her career choice. 

Before her affiliation with Miller Copeland, LLP, Ms. Copeland gained substantial experience working with several boutique law firms throughout Texas. In addition to her legal acumen, she is proficient in Spanish, which further enhances her ability to serve a diverse client base.
