Hal K. Gillespie

Texas attorney Hal K. Gillespie has a distinguished career dating back more than 40 years. Certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he represents individual clients, corporate executives and unions in arbitration, mediation, civil trials, discrimination claims and other legal matters. As a partner of Gillespie Sanford LLP, Mr. Gillespie provides compassionate and dedicated representation to his clients in Dallas, Texas, and the surrounding region.

Mr. Gillespie’s experience extends to a wide range of legal issues within labor and employment law. He has been involved in jury trials and arbitration hearings involving such business claims as breach of contract and tortious interference. He has handled civil rights-related claims such as discrimination on the basis of race and national origin, age, sex or disability. He has also handled cases involving allegations of sexual harassment and defamation.

In addition to his experience, Mr. Gillespie is also the recipient of a number of honors. For the past fifteen years, Texas Lawyer magazine listed Mr. Gillespie as the “Go-To Lawyer” in the area of labor and employment law. In 2011 and 2013 Texas Monthly listed Mr. Gillespie as among the top 10 lawyers in Texas.  He is listed among the best 500 attorneys in the United States by the website Lawdragon, and his professional skill and high ethical standards earned him the highest rating of AV Preeminent* from the peer review service Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Gillespie is admitted to practice law in Texas, the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous federal circuit and appeals courts in Texas, Oklahoma, the District of Columbia and other regions.

Active in many professional organizations, Mr. Gillespie is a member of the Lawyers Coordinating Committee of the AFL-CIO, the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a co-founder of the Texas Employment Lawyers Association.
