As a judge, Mr. Kendall received several commendations, including an appointment to the U.S. Sentencing Commission in 1999 by President Bill Clinton. While on this Commission, Mr. Kendall focused on developing and refining sentencing guidelines for corporate governance, healthcare, fraud and other federal crimes. He also conducted orientation classes for new federal judges and programs in docket management for experienced judges.
