Details

Julie is a founding partner of Quaid Farish, LLC, a family-focused law firm serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Having seen the financial cost and emotional damage caused by family law litigation, she focuses primarily on providing families with the opportunity to resolve their issues privately with transparency and respect through the interest based, goal oriented approach of collaborative divorce.  In addition to divorce and modification cases, Julie helps her clients through unique issues related to prenuptial agreements, post-nuptial agreements, custody, LGBTQ+ relationships, and stepparent adoptions. In every case, Julie believes that providing quality representation to clients must include considering the unique aspects of each client's case and life, along with extensive knowledge of the law as it relates to the specific facts of their case.

Julie is a 1981 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law and a 1978 graduate of Austin College. She has been honored as a Texas "Super Lawyer" and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for many years, by "D Magazine" as one of the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas and was the 2017 Lawyer of the Year for Collaborative Law: Family Law/Family Law in the DFW area.  Julie was the 2022 recipient of the Gay G. Cox Award for Excellence in Collaborative Law and holds an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. She has served as Chair of the State Bar of Texas Collaborative Law Section, Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Collaborative Law Section, Multi-term Chair of her collaborative practice group, Collaborative Divorce Dallas (formerly the Collaborative Alliance) and was on the Board and served as President of Collaborative Divorce Texas.  Julie is also active in numerous other professional organizations including the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, is a Dallas Bar Foundation Life Fellow, a Texas Family Law Foundation Life Fellow, an American Bar Association Life Fellow and in numerous other local bar associations. She has also been active throughout her professional career in providing pro bono and low bono services to the disadvantaged.  Julie is a two term former Board Chair of Cafe Momentum, has served on the Board of Directors for Texas Loves Children and on the LGBT Aging Coalition, Policy and Legislative Advocacy Committee.

*AV Preeminent and BV Distinguished are certification marks of Reed Elsevier Properties Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings fall into two categories: legal ability and general ethical standards.
