Attorney Kathleen Kearney has represented severely injured individuals and families throughout the state of Texas since 2006. Kathleen earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Boston College School of Nursing, a master of science in advanced nursing practice from Emory University School of Nursing, and a juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School with a focus on health and biomedical law. She is also a proud graduate of Trinity High School, an award-winning public high school in Euless, Texas.
Kathleen has been licensed as an Attorney in Texas since 2006, and a Registered Nurse since 2000. She maintains board certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care (CPNP-PC).
Currently, Kathleen is a volunteer mediator at Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center, volunteer attorney for the Dallas Bar Association’s Legal Line, and a volunteer nurse for Dallas County Medical Reserve Corps. Every fall, she also donates school supplies and sponsors local public high school marching bands including Trinity High School and North Dallas High School. Every spring, Kathleen serves as a volunteer judge for the state high school mock trial competition, and attends career day at a public elementary school in Dallas.
Kathlen was invited to join the Texas Bar College in 2020, and the Pro Bono College in 2022. In 2023, she completed the Dallas Bar Association's Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion CLE Challenge. Kathleen received the Distinguished Service Award from The American Association of Nurse Attorneys in 2016, and was named Big Sister of the Year for Dallas County’s chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2014. She also served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) from 2019 to 2021.
Kathleen is a member of several professional organizations including the The American Association of Nurse Attorneys, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Women Lawyers Association, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. For nearly a decade, Kathleen served as a Trustee for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys Foundation, and an officer of the Texas chapter of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
Kathleen is admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of Texas, and may appear before the Supreme Court of the United States as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
