Details
As a partner at Duffee + Eitzen, Marilea Lewis has played an instrumental role in the growth of this Dallas-Fort Worth divorce firm. During her decadeslong career, she has helped thousands of Texan families navigate complex family law matters. The majority of her cases fall into the family law category, but she also handles alternative dispute resolution cases and appears as an expert witness.
Ms. Lewis completed both her undergraduate and law degrees at Baylor Law School and became licensed to practice in 1978. Since then, she has also become board-certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law. She has also been admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Her legal accomplishments are also strengthened by 25 years of serving on the bench as a Dallas judge.
Her strong contributions to family law in Texas have earned her several notable awards over the years. Thomson Reuters ranked her among Texas's top 100 attorneys. Ms. Lewis has also ranked among the top 100 attorneys in Dallas-Fort Worth and among the 50 women attorneys in Texas.
When not fighting for her clients, she is active in the church. She serves on the Altar Guild and as a verger. Ms. Lewis is also a certified yoga instructor.
