Mark S. Kennedy

Mark S. Kennedy is the founding father of Kennedy Attorneys & Counselors at Law, a Dallas, Texas-based health law firm focused solely on providing sound counsel on compliance and regulatory laws. He proactively works with doctors, healthcare providers and hospitals across the state and nationwide, assisting them with matters pertaining to investigations, health and safety compliance, reimbursement and coverage, Medicare, fraud and abuse, and business laws concerning the healthcare industry. 

By establishing Kennedy Attorneys & Counselors at Law, Mr. Kennedy sought to address the unique legal challenges faced by medical professionals and healthcare providers. Throughout his legally rich career spanning more than four decades, he has acquired extensive experience and cultivated a comprehensive grasp of the continuously evolving legal landscape. His unique understanding of the numerous compliance laws and the government's decision-making processes and procedures has proven to be an invaluable asset while handling complex legal matters. 

Mr. Kennedy has represented his clients in a wide array of regulatory matters and civil disputes, including the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other agencies before various federal and state courts in Texas, Oklahoma, and Virginia, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Federal Claims Court, the Supreme Court of Texas and the Supreme Court of the United States. 

A graduate of The University of Oklahoma, Mr. Kennedy secured his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982, after which he joined The University of Oklahoma College of Law. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1985. The following year, he was authorized to practice law in Oklahoma and, after more than a decade, in Texas (1986). 

Thanks to his thorough understanding and unwavering dedication to his clients, Mr. Kennedy has earned numerous accolades and awards. Early on in his career, he received the United States Department of Health and Human Services General Counsel's Excellence in Legal Services Award and also the Certificate of Commendation.
