Melinda H. Eitzen

Attorney Melinda H. Eitzen is co-founder of Duffee + Eitzen law firm, which has law offices in Dallas, and by appointment only: Plano, Fort Worth and Wichita Falls. A top-ranked lawyer with more than 26 years of total legal experience, Ms. Eitzen focuses exclusively on family law, providing invaluable counsel and support to clients throughout the greater Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas who are going through a divorce or have some other serious legal issue affecting their families.

Over the course of her legal career, Ms. Eitzen has gained a reputation for her outstanding professionalism and unwavering commitment to her clients. A leader in her field, Ms. Eitzen served as President of the Collin County Bar Association and as a Member of the Board of Directors of Texas Lawyers for Children, President of the Plano Bar Association, a chair of the Collaborative Law Alliance of Collin County, director of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, director of Texas Young Lawyers Association, and chair of the Family Law Section of the Collin County Bar Association. She also is a member of the philanthropic organization Altrusa International. Duffee + Eitzen is a Donor to Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP)- in honor of her late father Judge Merrill Hartman, and a founding supporter of the SMU VanSickle Family Law Clinic.

Ms. Eitzen has also co-authored two books on divorce, published articles, and conducted lectures and continuing legal education seminars on a variety of legal topics related to family law and divorce. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center in 1994, and the State Bar of Texas admitted her to practice that same year.
