P. Wes Black

A stalwart champion of his clients’ rights, P. Wes Black maintains high standards in every case he takes on. A partner at Lyons & Simmons, LLP, in Dallas, Texas, he focuses his efforts on appellate practice, helping clients fight erroneous court decisions that led to their freedoms being curtailed. Mr. Black completed his undergraduate studies in 1995, graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from The University of Texas at Austin. He went on to attend the Baylor University School of Law, where he sharpened his shrewd legal acumen through his involvement in organizations such as the Baylor Law Review, serving as a notes and comments editor. He received his Juris Doctor in 1999, and in the same year, he obtained his license to practice law in Texas. He later became board-certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

A consummate professional through and through, Mr. Black understands the immense emotional strain his clients have to endure on a daily basis, and he strives to take on all their legal burdens so that they can focus on growing their relationships with their loved ones. Within his legal community, he enacts change through his active affiliations with myriad legal organizations, including the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Black is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, numerous courts of appeals in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of Texas.
