As the founding attorney of Zegen Law Firm, PLLC, nestled in the heart of Dallas, Texas, Robin Rubrecht Zegen dedicates her practice to the realm of family law. She guides individuals through the turbulent seas of divorce, custody disputes, property division and legal modifications, striving to ease the burden during one of life's most challenging chapters.
With the wisdom gained from personal experience – having navigated the stormy waters of her own high-conflict divorce after a twenty-year marriage – Ms. Zegen empathizes deeply with her clients' fears and anxieties. Her mission is to shepherd them through this transition with both compassion and fervor, preparing them for a brighter, healthier future.
Ms. Zegen’s journey in family law began in Oklahoma, where she has served as an attorney for over two decades. Throughout her career, she has assisted clients with a myriad cases, from amicable divorces and interstate relocations involving children to contentious custody battles and protracted trials, including appeals. In 2010, she made the move to Dallas, bringing her wealth of experience with her. Understanding that every case is unique, she approaches each one with the empathy and insight it deserves.
While some cases inevitably reach the courtroom, Ms. Zegen always aims to resolve matters through negotiation when feasible, reducing both emotional and financial strain. Her strategy always aligns with her clients' ultimate objectives, drawing on her extensive experience to guide them toward achieving those goals. Trained in collaborative law, Ms. Zegen offers an out of court solution to her clients as well as the traditional litigation and mediation solutions.
A respected presence in the legal community, Ms. Zegen is actively involved in the State Bar of Texas – Family Law Section, the Dallas Bar Association – Family Law Section, the Collin County Bar Association – Family Law Section, the Frisco Bar Association and the Plano Bar Association. Additionally, she serves as a distinguished Master of the Bench at the Curt B. Henderson American Inns of Court and proudly boasts a "Superb" rating on Avvo.
Ms. Zegen's academic journey saw her graduate cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Science in Finance from Oklahoma City University, followed by earning her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the same institution's School of Law. She obtained her license to practice law in Texas in 2010.
