Sara E. Barnett

Sara Elizabeth Barnett is a family law attorney at Connatser Family Law in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Barnett has several years of experience practicing family law, with a focus on intimate partner violence, serving clients throughout the Dallas, Texas, area.

Over the course of her career practicing family law, Ms. Barnett has successfully handled many complex matters involving divorce, custody, modifications, paternity, premarital agreements and property division. She provides dedicated and compassionate representation to her clients, committed to achieving a favorable resolution for their situation.

After earning her bachelor's degree, Ms. Barnett received her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. While pursuing her law degree, she served as a licensed intern for the school’s Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Clinic.

Following law school, Ms. Barnett passed the Texas bar examination and received her license to practice law before all Texas state courts. She began her legal career concentrating her practice on criminal defense law as an assistant district attorney. This role allowed her to gain experience prosecuting a wide variety of felonies and misdemeanors.

Ms. Barnett then went on to become the first on-site attorney at the Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, where she worked with clients facing family law issues. In 2018, she received the D CEO magazine’s nonprofit award for nonprofit team of the year.

Outside of her law practice, Ms. Barnett is an active contributor and valuable member of her legal community. She regularly speaks on criminal law, domestic violence and family law topics at events in her local community.
