A partner at Clement Speer, attorney Todd Clement focuses solely on representing people who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
When Mr. Clement was in middle school, he made the decision that he wanted to go into the legal field. He received his bachelor's degree with honors from Texas Tech University and continued his legal education at Texas Tech University School of Law. After ranking third in his class in law school, he was chosen as one of just 18 Texans to serve as a briefing counsel for the Texas Supreme Court. Through his year of service, he gained invaluable insight into the law and the judicial process as he assisted Justice Franklin Spears in deciding key cases and writing legal opinions.
From his early practice representing defendants in personal injury claims, Mr. Clement learned a great deal about how those parties and their insurance providers approach and value such matters. Later on, he was able to represent a youngster who suffered permanent brain damage from an unsafe truck and the wife of a man who perished in a fiery crash. He learned from those cases that his true mission was to advocate for the rights of injured people and their families rather than those of defendants and insurance companies.
Mr. Clement has a successful personal injury trial practice since 1995. He has tried numerous substantial cases to verdict and settled many others, and he handles only a select few cases per year. D Magazine recognizes him among the Best Dallas Personal Lawyers and The National Trial Lawyers named him one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in 2011-2016. He is a lifetime member of both the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has secured positive ratings through Martindale Hubbell.
Mr. Clement's popularity as a lecturer and instructor for fellow lawyers is a reflection of his standing in the industry. He served on the Executive Committee of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the organization also honored him with their Don Bowen Distinguished Service Award in 2020. Moreover, he formerly served as the president of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
