Clients turn to trial lawyer Victor Vital to handle high-profile and high-stakes jury trials of virtually all types. He remains dedicated to distinguishing himself as a top trial lawyer through his experience around the country and his likability and relatability to judges and juries alike.

Victor’s ability to absorb complex subject matter quickly and then package and present it persuasively to diverse juries make him suitable for virtually any high-stakes trial case in major U.S. metropolitan areas. Having tried more than 100 cases in two decades of practice, Victor seeks to remain ever-prepared for jury trials of various types.

Victor’s trial experience ranges from patent litigation, unfair competition, contract disputes, business tort cases, and high net worth divorce cases to trade secret and non-compete litigation, real estate disputes, products liability matters, catastrophic injury and death cases, consumer fraud matters, and white collar criminal matters. Because of his broad trial experience, clients and lawyers turn to Victor regardless of subject matter when they need a trial lawyer for their important cases. Beyond his trial experience, Victor has successfully resolved through settlement and dismissal all types of complex civil litigation matters. Moreover, Victor has secured favorable plea deals and indictment declinations in a range of white collar criminal matters including wire fraud and mail fraud, tax evasion, securities fraud, Ponzi cases, and money laundering.

Notably, Victor was inducted into the Texas Lawyer Verdicts Hall of Fame for securing a No. 1 verdict -- the largest employment verdict in Texas in 2012 – for a corporate plaintiff in a complicated noncompete/trade secrets matter. In 2016, Victor secured the largest (No. 1) verdict in the fraud category in the Texas Lawyer Top Texas Verdicts & Settlements of 2016, with a jury verdict of nearly $34 million (including $16 million in punitive damages) in a partnership dispute involving claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. This top 2016 jury verdict also made the National Law Journal Top 100 list.

Victor is often brought onboard on the eve of trial – in the final months or weeks leading up to trial – because of his deep trial experience. Moreover, Victor is a prolific author and invited lecturer/educator on trial issues. He also teaches trial practice techniques and provides commentary on major trials and cases in the media.

Victor secured a verdict against five former executives of Horizon and two competitor companies on claims of breach of non-competition and no solicitation covenants, theft of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, and fraud.   “I’m not at all surprised that Victor secured such a noteworthy verdict for his client,” says Steve Carlin, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Dallas office,” Victor has a keen understanding of our clients’ needs and what it means to provide them with strategic and cost effective solutions in courtroom matters. He is a terrific trial lawyer who values client service above all else.”  UHS and Horizon are extremely pleased with the verdict and with Greenberg Traurig for securing it.  The Horizon president said that "Victor fought for us when we needed it most. He worked tirelessly to bring this issue to a close, securing a verdict that we felt was fair and exceeded our expectations."

    Representative Clients:

    • CultureMap, LLPGreenberg Traurig secured a dismissal with prejudice as to defamation claims against an leading-edge digital media company, CultureMap, LLC, and its Dallas managing editor, Claire St. Amant. The case involved First Amendment issues and multiple defendants, as well as other claims, such as invasion of privacy and trespass. The lawsuit, filed by Dr. Richard and Leanne Malouf, alleged that the firm’s clients, CultureMap, LLC and Claire St. Amant, were liable for defamation arising from their reporting of the Maloufs' lawsuit against prominent media entities and personalities. Victor Vital, the lead partner for this high-profile matter, used an anti-SLAPP motion to prove that the lawsuit infringed on public participation rights under the Texas's Citizen Participation Act, which provides for the expedited dismissal of meritless "strategic lawsuits against public participation" ("SLAPP suits”). This dismissal saved his client additional time and fees and that would have been incurred had the company remained in the lawsuit through the summary judgment phase., 2013
