Born and raised in Texas, Alejandro Acosta Jr. is a partner at Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP. With offices in Austin, El Paso and Houston, he focuses his practice exclusively on civil litigation, providing assistance to clients throughout the state. A significant part of Mr. Acosta's practice consists of his representation of insurance companies in personal injury and wrongful death litigation centering around products liability and other tort claims. He also has extensive experience with insurance coverage litigation, including bad faith claims.

In addition to his insurance practice, Mr. Acosta also represents employers in employment-related litigation, including alleged violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Texas Whistleblower Act. Other civil litigation matters that he has handled have involved environmental law, and he has experience in this area in appearing on behalf of companies before state and federal agencies such as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency. Mr. Acosta has a background in civil rights litigation as well. As an undergraduate, Mr. Acosta attended The University of Texas at El Paso and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1973. He then went on to pursue his legal education at The George Washington University Law School and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1976. While there, Mr. Acosta clerked with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. Admitted to practice in Texas and Arizona, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
