Sam J. Legate

A founding partner of Scherr Legate, PLLC, located in El Paso, Texas, Sam J. Legate offers legal services to clients all across the region. He focuses his practice on personal injury, employment and labor, and products liability matters. With nearly four decades of legal experience spanning multiple jurisdictions, he has built a practice dedicated to representing individuals and businesses in complex civil litigation and workplace-related disputes.

Mr. Legate has extensive experience handling cases involving serious personal injury claims, employment conflicts and product liability litigation. He provides counsel to clients navigating challenging legal matters in both state and federal courts. His practice reflects a commitment to advocacy and strategic representation across a wide range of civil litigation issues.

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Legate earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin in 1983. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1986. His educational background in business and law has informed his approach to litigation and client representation throughout his career.

Mr. Legate is licensed to practice law in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. In addition to his state admissions, he is admitted before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
