Since 1997, Darryl V. Pratt, Esq., CPA, has provided legal and business counsel to individuals, families, business owners, entrepreneurs, executives, physicians and other professionals, real estate investors, and closely held companies throughout Texas and Oklahoma. He is the Principal and Managing Attorney of Pratt Law Group, PLLC, doing business as Lone Star ★ Counsel.

As a dual-licensed Attorney–Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Pratt brings an uncommon combination of legal, tax, financial, and business experience to his practice. Mr. Pratt focuses his practice on Business Law and Transactions, Business Acquisitions and Sales, Asset and Stock Purchase Agreements, Business Succession and Buy-Sell Planning, LLC and Series LLC formations, entity structuring, real estate transactions, asset protection, and related tax matters. He also represents individuals and families in Estate Planning and Trusts, Probate and Estate Administration, Trust Administration, and the preservation and transfer of family wealth.

A significant part of Mr. Pratt’s practice is devoted to counseling owners of closely held and family-owned businesses during critical stages in the life of a company. He assists clients with business purchases and sales, ownership transitions, management succession, buy-sell arrangements, valuation and funding considerations, transfers to family members or key employees, and the legal and tax consequences of business transactions. When financial challenges threaten an otherwise viable business, he also advises clients regarding bankruptcy and restructuring alternatives, including Chapter 11 Subchapter V proceedings.

Mr. Pratt graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma in 1993 and earned his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1997. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma and is admitted before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the United States Tax Court. His federal bankruptcy practice is focused on Chapter 11, including Subchapter V reorganizations, and Chapter 7 matters before the United States Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

Mr. Pratt has been active in numerous local, state, and national legal and accounting organizations, including the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Dallas Estate Planning Council, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants.
