Justin Barrett Wilson

Justin Barrett Wilson is a former Collin County chief prosecutor and the founding attorney of My Dallas Criminal Lawyer in Frisco, Texas, where he focuses his practice on DWI and criminal defense. Having tried cases from both sides of the courtroom, he draws on his prosecutorial background to anticipate the State's strategy and build defenses that hold up at trial. He represents clients throughout Collin, Denton, Dallas, and Rockwall counties.

Mr. Wilson earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from Baylor University and his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law. While still in law school, practicing under a third-year bar card, he won his first jury trial, a DWI case in Collin County. The Collin County District Attorney's Office recruited him in 2013 before he had even taken the bar exam.

During his tenure at the DA's office, Mr. Wilson served as a misdemeanor and felony chief prosecutor, earned special commendation for training new prosecutors, and handled a high volume of DWI and criminal cases. He is certified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and has taught Collin County police academy classes on DWI detection and enforcement. That prosecutorial experience continues to shape his defense strategy today, across well over a thousand DWI cases handled.

Super Lawyers named Mr. Wilson to the Texas Rising Stars list in 2021, 2022, and 2023, an honor awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys statewide. My Dallas Criminal Lawyer was named a 2025 Best in DFW People's Choice Award winner by The Dallas Morning News, and Expertise.com has recognized the firm among Frisco's best DUI lawyers. Mr. Wilson is also a member of the Texas Bar College, a professional society dedicated to high ethical standards and continuing legal education.

Active in his community, Mr. Wilson serves as presiding judge of the Wylie Teen Court Program, has held board and leadership roles in local bar associations, and previously lectured at Baylor University.
