Details

Attorney Kathryn Pruitt is the founder of Pruitt Law Group, PLLC in Frisco, Texas.  She has been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009.  Less than one percent of Texas lawyers are Board Certified in a specialty area.  Kathryn and her team handle all types of family law matters, including those involving divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, premarital agreements, post-marital agreements and enforcement and modification of orders.  The firm represents clients throughout Collin, Denton, Dallas and surrounding counties.

Kathryn has over 28 years of experience as a trial lawyer, and is also a trained mediator. She is dedicated to using her knowledge and experience to assist her clients in navigating the emotional and financial challenges a family law matter often presents.  She works closely with them to develop a plan designed with their best interests in mind. While she recognizes the benefit of reaching an amicable agreement when possible, she possesses the skill and tenacity necessary to aggressively pursue her clients' objectives at trial.  One former opposing counsel described her as, "a true professional and a warrior in the courtroom."

Kathryn has been selected to Super Lawyers each year from 2011 to 2022, and was selected to Rising Stars from 2005-2007.  Kathryn has been listed in “The Best Lawyers in America” each year since 2016. She has written articles related to various aspects of family law for the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.

Kathryn earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, graduating cum laude.  She was also an Articles Editor of the South Texas Law Review.  She obtained her license to practice law in 1993, which made her eligible to appear before all Texas state courts. She is Board Certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Kathryn is an active member of her legal community. She belongs to the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Curt Henderson Inn of Court, the Texas Family Law Foundation, and the local Bar Associations.
