Shelby Hart’s journey in family law began long before he earned his stripes as a shareholder at Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers, in Frisco, Texas. What started as a summer internship blossomed into a 12-year devotion to guiding families through their most delicate transitions. From his earliest days on the firm’s team – as an intern, legal assistant, paralegal and law clerk – he absorbed every facet of practice until he earned his place among the firm’s leaders.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government, Mr. Hart pursued a Juris Doctor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. His academic pedigree was enriched by a summer semester at the University of Oxford, where exposure to international legal traditions broadened his perspective and refined his analytical instincts.
Since joining the firm full-time, Mr. Hart has cultivated a reputation for handling high-stakes divorces – some involving multimillion-dollar estates – and representing both current and former NFL players. Yet he approaches every case, whether a child custody dispute, property division, spousal support negotiation or adoption matter, with the same steadfast commitment: to secure the best possible outcome for his clients and their children.
In recognition of his skill and dedication, Mr. Hart was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in both 2022 and 2023. Beyond his courtroom successes, he invests time in the Collin County legal community, serving on the Family Law Section of the Collin County Bar Association and engaging with the Collin County Young Lawyers Association.
Through every trial and triumph, Mr. Hart credits his mentor for illuminating the path to excellence. Whether drafting marital agreements or enforcing support orders, he listens carefully, analyzes meticulously and advocates fiercely. For families facing change, he is not just a lawyer; he is a trusted ally dedicated to navigating complexity with compassion, creativity and unwavering professionalism.
