He then enrolled at Texas Tech University School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2011. When there, Mr. Sellers served as president of the Texas Aggie Bar Association. He was also the articles editor of the Texas Tech Law Review and served on the Texas Tech Law School Board of Barristers.

Mr. Sellers is admitted to practice in Texas and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, for which he has served on the board of directors since 2014 and as co-chair of the DWI Resource Committee since 2015. Mr. Sellers is a founding member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. He was president of the Lubbock Criminal Defense Lawyers Association from 2015 to 2016.
