Focusing his practice on criminal defense matters, Gary L. Medlin is the managing partner at The Medlin Law Firm. Certified as a specialist in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he provides representation to clients in Tarrant County and throughout North Texas from the firm's office in Fort Worth. Admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, Mr. Medlin is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
The types of misdemeanor and felony offenses that Mr. Medlin's clients have been charged with having committed have included driving under the influence of alcohol, drug possession and distribution, assault, weapons violations, fraud, sex crimes, domestic violence and murder. Throughout his career, he has been able to obtain numerous positive outcomes, whether through dismissals or acquittals or as the result of the negotiation of favorable plea agreements with the prosecution. As an undergraduate, Mr. Medlin attended Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science in 1979. Remaining in Lubbock, he obtained his legal education at Texas Tech University School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1982. After he graduated, Mr. Medlin spent several years as a prosecutor with the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office before entering private practice. His several professional memberships include the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
