Luke A. Williams is a founding partner of Howard Lotspeich Alexander & Williams, PLLC, a Fort Worth, Texas-based trial firm where he devotes his practice to criminal defense, Title IX matters, and personal injury litigation throughout Fort Worth, Denton and the surrounding communities. His caseload spans auto and truck accidents; wrongful death; electrocution; trip and fall; defective products; child injuries and workplace accidents; family law matters; including divorce; child custody and child support modification; the full range of criminal defense involving DWI and intoxication offenses; drug crimes; theft; assault and violent offenses; white collar crime; sex offenses; domestic violence; juvenile defense; expunction and nondisclosure; federal criminal defense and airport gun charges; and Title IX student defense such as college disciplinary hearings.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Williams built his trial experience in public service, first as an assistant district attorney with the Lubbock County Criminal District Attorney's Office, then as an assistant city attorney for the City of Plano, Texas. That foundation gave him a rare breadth of courtroom experience, ranging from routine traffic citations to capital murder prosecutions, and instilled in him an enduring commitment to zealous advocacy, whether he stands for the State of Texas or for an individual client.
Raised in Post, Texas, as the son of a cotton farmer and an elementary school teacher, Mr. Williams attributes his relentless work ethic to those early roots on the family farm. He has since passed that knowledge on to fellow attorneys, serving as an instructor on topics such as arson prosecution and investigation, expunction and nondisclosure proceedings, voir dire techniques and effective strategies for representing students in Title IX cases.
An accomplished student throughout his academic career, Mr. Williams earned his Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating with Board of Barristers honors and his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University, where he was recognized on the dean's list. He remains active in the legal community through memberships in several professional organizations, including the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
