Ali Mokaram is a Houston personal injury lawyer and the founder of Mokaram Law Firm, recognized for recovering more than $1 billion for clients injured in car, truck, motorcycle, and other catastrophic accidents across the Greater Houston metropolitan area and nationwide. With over three decades of experience, Ali advocates for clients in wrongful death, catastrophic injury, class action, and mass tort litigation.
Ali currently represents more than 400 former NFL players in the nationwide concussion litigation against the league, a case he took on alongside attorney Walter Humphrey — one that produced what is believed to be the first "open-ended" settlement in U.S. history, with the NFL committing to pay whatever is needed to compensate every player harmed.
The success Ali has achieved for his clients has earned him recognition in the Best Attorneys of America list by The Best Lawyers in America and Lawyers of Distinction in 2018, and membership in the National Trial Lawyers: Top 25 Mass Tort Lawyers list. He was also named Lawyer of the Year by the American University of Legal Professionals in 2024, and his work has drawn national media attention, with features in Forbes, Time, Fox News, USA Today, Fortune, and Bloomberg Businessweek.
Some of the types of cases that Ali and his firm handle include:
- Car accidents
- Truck accidents
- Motorcycle accidents
- Catastrophic injuries
- Wrongful death
- Maritime injuries
- NFL concussions
- And more
Before founding his firm, Ali earned his Juris Doctor from the Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1995. He clerked at the United States Attorney's Office, Major Crimes Division, in the Southern District, then spent a year with an established personal injury firm before striking out on his own. As one of the first lawyers in the country to adopt secure online sign-ups for his clients, Ali redirected his practice toward a more national scope. Outside the courtroom, he is an active member of the Houston Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
