Anton J. Stewart

As an attorney at Hendershot Cowart P.C., located in Houston, Texas, Anton J. Stewart represents Fortune 500 companies and emerging businesses in complex commercial, trade secret, employment and mass tort matters. His practice spans civil and common law systems, allowing him to advise clients involved in sophisticated domestic and international business disputes.

Mr. Stewart’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, trade secrets and unfair competition, as well as disputes and counseling involving noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements. He also handles mass tort defense, labor and employment disputes, and international business disputes and arbitrations. His experience includes representing clients in federal and state courts across the country.

Mr. Stewart earned a J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law. He also holds an LL.B. with merit from The University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom and a J.D. equivalent with first-class honors from Ural State Law Academy in Russia. His international legal education supports his work on matters involving multiple jurisdictions and legal systems.

Licensed to practice law in Texas, New York and the District of Columbia, Mr. Stewart is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas, the Western District of Oklahoma and the Western District of New York. In addition, he is admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

Mr. Stewart has represented clients in significant commercial matters, including negotiating a favorable mediated settlement in a commercial dispute valued at more than $2 million between two national oil marketers. His broad litigation and counseling experience enables him to assist businesses with disputes, contractual issues and other complex legal challenges.
