Additionally, on August 9, 2023, Gilde Law Firm obtained a 10-figure verdict ($1.2 Billion) for past and future mental anguish and exemplary damages on behalf of a single plaintiff who was the victim of image-based sexual abuse. Brad Gilde attended The University of Texas at Austin (UT) where he graduated with a degree in Philosophy and Government with a minor in Business. While at UT, Bradford Gilde competed in interscholastic Mock Trial and was President/Captain of the UT Judo Team where he fought in numerous collegiate, state, and national competitions.
After UT, Brad Gilde returned to Houston, Texas, to attend South Texas College of Law-Houston (STCL) – the best law school in the country for trial advocacy. There, Bradford Gilde competed successfully in numerous national mock trial competitions and was awarded the Order of Barristers. After receiving his JD, Attorney Gilde returned to STCL as an adjunct professor of law – teaching Mock Trial Litigation and coaching STCL’s nationally competing varsity mock trial teams.
Following law school, Attorney Gilde pursued a career representing injured people and their families. Attorney Gilde has been honored to work for some of Houston’s most elite plaintiff trial firms, including The Lanier Law Firm, Aaron J. DeLuca, PLLC, and Matthews & Associates.
Attorney Gilde’s past guides Gilde Law Firm’s philosophy. A Shodan in Judo, Judo strongly shaped Attorney Gilde’s view of litigation and advocacy. Judo requires a fighter who is constantly moving; acting and reacting both offensively and defensively; fighting smaller, leaner than your opponent; and often giving way to allow your opponent to defeat itself. Judo is an Olympic sport where competitors fight, under rules, to win. Trial is no different. Trial is a competition between two sides – the Plaintiff vs. the Defendant(s); trial has rules – rules of evidence, procedure, and the law; trial is a fight – justice is not freely given without one; and in trial, there is only one winner.
Attorney Gilde uses these same combative tactics in litigation and advocacy, as a trial lawyer. That is, “constantly moving” requires constant pressure on defendants by aggressively filing legal papers first and often; “acting and reacting both offensively and defensively” requires using the law as both a sword and a shield to advance the client’s interests; “fighting smaller, leaner than your opponent” requires using big-firm thinking in a small-firm setting, so that the lawyer can act and react quickly without being encumbered by big-firm inefficiencies; and “giving-way” requires seeing the big picture – knowing when and how to capitalize on your opponent’s mistakes to win the case.
Trial Is A Fight; You Need A Fighter
Attorney Gilde founded Gilde Law Firm to implement his own philosophy. During every case, Attorney Gilde strives to attain justice for his clients who have been injured or victimized by others. At Gilde Law Firm, “We Believe, We Fight, We Win” is our motto and reflects the passion we bring to our cases. It is simple but true. We believe in our clients and their causes, we fight for their interests in litigation, and we win the results that compensate their loss. Attorney Gilde and his staff will protect your best interests at every point during the legal process, as we seek an effective resolution for your legal issue. You can rely on us to ensure that your voice is heard. We will dedicate our resources to achieving results that meet your goals.
