Colleen Migl is a managing shareholder at Quadros Migl & Crosby PLLC in Houston, Texas. With a keen business acumen, she guides clients through every stage of corporate life – whether structuring new entities, negotiating commercial leases, overseeing mergers and acquisitions or resolving complex construction and real-estate disputes. Her practice further encompasses finance, debt collections, general corporate counseling and estate planning.
Born and raised amid the volatility of Houston’s oil and gas industry, Ms. Migl learned early on to balance risk and opportunity. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and general business from Texas Tech University, graduating as the highest-ranking student in the Rawls College of Business. She then pursued her Juris Doctor at The George Washington University Law School, where her dedication to public service earned her the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for pro bono work assisting Washington, D.C.’s homeless and unemployed.
Upon earning her J.D., Ms. Migl joined a leading accounting firm in Houston, advising major oil and gas clients on international taxation matters. Her ability to juggle multiple Fortune 200 acquisitions while furthering her education led her back to academia – she earned an LL.M. with a certificate in international taxation from Georgetown University, once again distinguished for her pro bono contributions to her local community.
During law school, Ms. Migl refined her skills through internships at the nation’s second-largest CPA firm, federal agencies and a national nonprofit. She culminated her legal training as a Shapiro fellow in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, collaborating on high-profile securities litigations and investigations alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service.
Ms. Migl holds an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. Her multifaceted background – anchored in corporate strategy, taxation, dispute resolution and community service – equips her to deliver sophisticated, business-oriented legal solutions to her clients.
