Attorney Donn C. Fullenweider is a senior partner with the Fullenweider Wilhite law firm, which has office locations in Houston and Austin, Texas. Board-certified in both civil litigation and family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Fullenweider focuses his practice primarily on family law. He has more than 61 years of legal experience, and he has earned recognition as one of the top family law attorneys in the country.
Through his practice, Mr. Fullenweider handles all types of family law disputes, with a particular emphasis on highly contentious and complex high-asset divorce cases. He has gained considerable success advocating for his clients and helping them obtain the favorable outcomes they deserve for their issues involving child custody and support, property tracing and asset division, breaches of fiduciary duty, business valuations and complex investments analyses, along with prosecuting and defending pre- and postnuptial agreements.
A leader in his field, Mr. Fullenweider helped establish the State Bar of Texas' Litigation Section and served as its first chairman. He also established the Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute for the American Bar Association. Additionally, he is the former Chairman of the State Bar of Texas' Board of Directors, and having tried more than 50 cases to verdict, he became an advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Recognized for his impeccable professionalism and exceptional legal abilities, Mr. Fullenweider earned the Texas Bar Foundation’s Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award in 2016. He also holds an AV-Preeminent peer-review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell as well as consistent designation from The Best Lawyers in America, including the organization's Texas Family Lawyer of the Year award in 2009. He also received an induction into the State Bar of Texas' Hall of Legends in 2004.
A graduate of the University of Houston, Mr. Fullenweider obtained his Juris Doctor in 1958 from the University of Houston Law Center. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
