Mr. Cassidy is a member of the Houston Bar Association and served as chair of the association’s oil, gas and mineral law section in 2017 and chair of the international law section in previous years. He also served as council of the international law section of the State Bar of Texas. He remains an active member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, the Energy Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College.

After earning a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, Mr. Cassidy received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Warwick in England. He obtained his law degree from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law.

Verdicts/Settlements:

  • Reached a publicly available settlement for my client, Tatsoft LLC, resulting in a 7-figure judgement and nearly 2 million dollars in indemnities.  The defendants were Schneider Electric and InduSoft LLC.  Defendants settled moments befor voire dire was to start.  The settlement ended the case in Travis County District Court.  The case, however, started in federal court in the Western District Texas, where Tatsoft prevailed on a forum non conviens motions that resulted in dismissal of the federal suit.   , 2018
