Her primary focus is on injury claims against medical device and pharmaceutical companies, particularly those dealing with women's health issues.

    Mrs. Copeland currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Essure consolidated litigation pending in California where she oversees the claims of thousands of women who have suffered serve and permanent injuries as a result of the Essure permanent sterilization birth control device. She also serves on the Plaintiffs' Steering Commitee for the various pelvic mesh MDLs pending in the Southern District of West Virginia. All of these positions were obtained through court appointments. In her role on the pelvic mesh Plaintiffs' Steering Committee she has served on a number of victorious trial teams and has recovered significant financial awards for women injured by various pelvic mesh products.

    A 1997 cum laude graduate of the University of Houston, Mrs. Copeland obtained her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2000. That same year, the State Bar of Texas admitted her to practice, and the Missouri Bar admitted her in 2010. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court. Through pro hac vice admission, she also serves clients in state and federal courts across the nation.

    Recognized as a leader in her field, Mrs. Copeland routinely conducts lectures throughout the United States on a variety of legal topics related to personal injury and tort law. She has also served on a number of committees and councils that deal with complex multidistrict litigation involving defective medical devices and implants, dangerous pharmaceuticals, and other similar matters.

    Active in a number of local, state and national bar associations, she helped establish the Texas Women Rainmakers, an organization devoted to empowering and supporting women in the legal profession. She was also unanimously elected to serve on the American Association of Justice's Board of Governers.

    Mrs. Copeland resides in Houston, Texas but splits time in Colorado with her husband and young son who is training to become a competitive snowboarder.
