Details

Ethan Gibson is a commercial litigation attorney and a partner at the law firm of Gibson PC based in Houston, Texas. He has proven himself as an observant, compassionate and devoted lawyer who tackles problems based on his clients' individual needs.

Since he was first licensed, Ethan's work focused on complicated commercial litigation involving matters such as natural and energy resources, trade secrets, partnership disputes, joint ventures, business divorces, oil and gas disputes, job disagreements, copyright and artwork legal problems, contract violations, deception, defamation, bankruptcy, wrongful termination, promissory estoppel, shareholder oppression and more.

Since forming his own law firm, however, he has heavily focused on landowner representation in areas where oil and gas are present - especially in West Texas.  While a strong supporter of Texas energy, Ethan's goal and focus is making sure that the landowners are paid everything they are owed and that their land is respected. This work is in addition to the many highly complex commercial matters he still handles, primarily on the plaintiff side.

Ethan spent much of his childhood in the back pews of the courtroom watching his dad – a trial attorney – conduct court proceedings. This constant and early exposure to the legal system caused something inside him to "click" or break, depending on who you ask.

Before he became a lawyer, Ethan built and maintained large commercial computer networks. When he was only 23 years old, he managed 25 IT employees. He was soon called back to the law, but his gained knowledge and skills with computers, are, to this day, invaluable in helping him find the truth when examining his adversaries emails and computers.

Upon concluding his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude with a perfect G.P.A., Ethan earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2010. During this period, he was featured on the dean's list every semester; worked as an editor for Houston Law Review and was a national champion of the mock trial team. Additionally, he was honored to be part of the Order of the Coif, Order of Barristers and Order of Barons.

A fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation, Mr. Gibson is also affiliated with the State Bar of Texas, and the American Bar Association.
