Details
Ethan Gibson is a commercial litigation attorney and a partner at the law firm of Gibson Wunde based in Houston, Texas. He has proven himself as an observant, compassionate and devoted lawyer who tackles problems based on his clients' individual needs.
Licensed in Texas since 2010, Mr. Gibson’s line of work focuses on complicated commercial litigation involving matters such as natural and energy resources, trade secrets, partnership disputes, joint ventures, business divorces, oil and gas disputes, job disagreements, copyright and artwork legal problems, contract violations, deception, defamation, bankruptcy, wrongful termination, promissory estoppel, shareholder oppression and more.
Hailing from the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Gibson spent much of his childhood at the back pews of the courtroom watching his dad – a trial attorney – conduct court proceedings. At an early age, he started a profession in computer science and supervised more than 25 employees as the general manager of an IT consulting business. He soon understood that his genuine calling was the legal profession, and so he embarked on the long journey to become a trial attorney.
Upon concluding his B.A. with summa cum laude honors from the University of Central Missouri in 2007, Mr. Gibson earned his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2010. During this period, he was featured on the dean's list; worked as an editor for Houston Law Review and was named National Champion of the William W. Daniel National Invitational Mock Trial Competition. Additionally, he was honored to be part of the Order of the Coif, Order of Barristers and Order of Barons.
Mr. Gibson interned for the Honorable Gray H. Miller of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He is authorized to practice in Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, the U.S. Â Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas.
A fellow of the Houston Bar Foundation, Mr. Gibson is also affiliated with the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association.
