Attorney Forrest Cohrs works as an associate attorney with the law firm Hanszen Laporte, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Enrolling for his bachelor’s degree in political science at Kansas State University, Mr. Cohrs completed his undergraduate course in 2013. He graduated his doctorate in jurisprudence with honors from The University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2016. As an undergrad, he was inducted into the fraternity of Lambda Chi Alpha and was selected as the director of inter fraternal relations at the Interfraternity Council (IFC). At law school, he contributed to the Oklahoma Law Review as an assistant managing editor. In addition, he was an active part of the Energy Law Student Association and the Phi Delta Phi international legal honor society.
While in law school, Mr. Cohrs was an intern at a private firm that marketed and conducted trials on the campus using brand-new technology. He has also had opportunities to clerk at various boutique firms and law offices across Oklahoma.
Mr. Cohrs works on litigating matters in all the state and federal courts of Texas, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of cases from banking, real estate and civil appeals to employment law, fraud, insurance defense and personal injury. Garnering experience in the field, he has had exposure to complex commercial law matters which has enabled him to counsel his clients on various transactions and business deals. Contract law and entity formation are the other aspects that he helps his clients with.
