Details

Primarily an employment litigation attorney, Jacqueline A. Armstrong is the owner of the Texas-based firm Armstrong & Associates in Houston. Competitively litigating cases for more than three decades, she represents her clients with matters involving sexual harassment, wrongful termination, contracts and noncompete issues, and wage and hour cases.

Receiving her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1981, Ms. Armstrong majored in political science and history. Later, she attended the South Texas College of Law Houston and obtained her doctorate in jurisprudence in 1987. She was a member of the moot court and gained immense trial experience during her last year of Law School with what is known as a "Third Year Bar Card" that permits a student to practice law under the supervision of a sponsoring lawyer.  With that rare credential on top of the years of experience supporting top trial lawyers as a paralegal and highly trained investigator, Ms. Armstrong was able to practice law at a more advanced level than most students with that credential.

Ms. Armstrong worked as an associate attorney at a few firms, including a startup, before she established her legal firm. Employment-related disputes can be lengthy and time-consuming at times, and she promptly works to make the best out of the time and case for her clients.

An experienced and seasoned litigator, Ms. Armstrong takes the time to listen to every single client and develop a well-suited solution for them. She works tenaciously to protect her clients from getting exploited and strives to obtain the compensation that is due.

A notable member of the Lawyers of Distinction, Ms. Armstrong’s firm was named the Best Employment Law Firm in the Greater Houston Area by New World Report's Legal Elite Award. She is rated 9.9 on 10 on Avvo.

In addition to being a member of the American Bar Association committee on Labor & Employment, at present, Ms. Armstrong is also an active member of the board at the Houston National Employment Lawyers Association and the Houston Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. She is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Texas Employment Lawyers Association.  She is frequently consulted by colleagues seeking assistance on strategizing, bringing cases to trial, and preparing counsel for argument to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and state appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court.
