A past chairman of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, Mr. Unger is a current member of the Propeller Club, the Defense Research Institute, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association. On the Maritime Personnel Committee of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, he is a Proctor Member. In Admiralty and Maritime Law, he was named one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2021.
He is admitted to practice in the state of Texas. Mr. Unger is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
