Founding the Law Office of Joseph Ruiz, PLLC, in 2016, Mr. Ruiz sought to provide personalized and responsible client service incorporating closer client relations. He has deftly managed to secure dismissals for over 1000 criminal cases, and he has led the fight in over 350 jury trials. He was born in Spain and brought up in Houston, which gives him the unique advantage of understanding the pulse of the locals while being to expand his reach to a wider cross-section of the society as well.
Mr. Ruiz is an alumnus of Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, from where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2001. He attended the St. Mary’s University School of Law and graduated with his J.D. in 2004 when he also passed the Texas bar examination and got licensed to practice law in the state. He clerked at a medical malpractice firm during this tenure and proceeded to try his hand in commercial litigation before locking his focus on criminal law.
The successes that followed Mr. Ruiz in his professional career and the dedication he showed to his work were recognized by various prestigious legal organizations, his peers and clients alike. To ensure that his standard of advocacy is maintained, Mr. Ruiz attends 50 hours of additional training every year for his continuing legal education to keep abreast of the changing landscapes in his field.
