Kevin P. Walters

Of counsel at Royston Rayzor, Kevin P. Walters represents clients in Houston, Texas, in matters of admiralty and maritime law. With almost four decades of experience, he has handled a long list of legal transportation issues, including the following: dock damage, collisions and allisions, personal injury defense for seamen and longshoremen, contamination claims, cargo damage, demurrage claims, charter party disputes, and bill of lading disputes for charterers, vessel owners and their underwriters.

Admitted to practice in Texas, New York, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia, Mr. Walters is also admitted to practice before several federal courts. These include the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

In 1982, Mr. Walters graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor of Arts before moving on to law school. At Vanderbilt University Law School, he graduated in 1985 with his Juris Doctor.

An experienced litigator, Mr. Walters is a member of several professional organizations. He is an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Transportation Lawyers Association, the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit and the Defense Research Institute. He was also named one of the Best Lawyers in America for admiralty and maritime law.
