Lynne M. Jurek is the managing director of The Jurek Law Group. Based in Houston, Texas, she focuses her practice on a wide variety of civil litigation matters, representing businesses and people throughout the greater metropolitan area. Ms. Jurek attended Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, where she majored in English and business and spent her junior year abroad in England before receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1987. She then pursued her legal studies at what was then known as William Mitchell College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1991.
Many of Ms. Jurek’s clients are insurance companies and their policy holders, and she has defended them in personal injury cases involving medical malpractice, defective products, premises liability, nursing home negligence, toxic torts, maritime accidents, and truck and other motor vehicle crashes. Her experience has also encompassed construction litigation, labor and employment claims, homeowners association disputes, will contests and other types of probate litigation, contract breaches, commercial litigation and arbitration. Ms. Jurek has written and lectured extensively on topics related to her practice area, and she is a member of several legal and community groups.
Admitted to practice in Texas since 1992, Ms. Jurek is also admitted to practice in Minnesota as well as before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. She has been certified as a specialist in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995. Highly regarded by her fellow attorneys for her successful track record in court and at the negotiating table as well as for her high degree of ethics, Ms. Jurek has received an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
