Mary E. Ramos is board-certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and practices exclusively in the area of divorce and family law. She works out of the Ramos Law Group, PLLC, in Houston, Texas; her firm has two other offices in Sugar Land and The Woodlands. She has an extensive background in family law and is a certified family law mediator who understands the emotional side of divorce and brings special compassion to every case.
After leaving the U.S. Navy, Ms. Ramos earned a Bachelor of Science in management from Park University, graduating summa cum laude in 1999. She then earned her law degree in 2002 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. During law school, she interned in the family court and was also mentored by judges and several board-certified attorneys.
Recognized for her achievements in the legal field, Ms. Ramos is named among the Best Divorce Lawyers in Houston by Expertise.com and in the Houston’s Top Lawyers list by H Texas Magazine. - After years of litigation in a high-conflict divorce and child custody case with domestic violence alleged by both parties, the court found in favor of our client, appointing dad as the sole managing conservator. , 2023

- In 2019, the court granted a Protective Order for our client and denied the competing application in a high-conflict domestic violence case. The opposing party appealed the case arguing a conflict with a mediated settlement agreement and factually insufficient evidence to support the trial court's ruling. The 14th Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court's protective order., 2019
- Our client is awarded sole managing conservatorship in a weeklong jury trial in a very high-conflict case. Our client was told by several highly qualified attorneys that she didn't stand a chance to win primary and had been in litigation for several years. Following the trial, the opposing party appealed disputing the trial court erred by admitting evidence that was factually insufficient to support the verdict appointing Mother as the sole managing conservator of the child. The court of appeals affirmed the trial court's decision., 2019
- A client hired a week before trial for custody of her eight-month-old baby. Dad had everything in his favor including a social study and all witnesses. After a cross-examination by Mary E. Ramos, the judge granted primary custody to mom.
