Prior to earning his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center, Mr. Patterson received a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at Austin. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Mr. Patterson is a member of the American and Houston bar associations, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association as well as the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.   • Tedford v Weaver: Weaver made a claim on a Note against Tedford for $1 Million Dollars. Tedford (Patterson's client) sued for Fraud to invalidate the Note and recover all costs and fees related to the litigation.  In the fourth day of trial, after the Plaintiff rested, Weaver agreed to a Confidential Settlement, 2012
  • Defense Verdict: CORSA v EPT: CORSA sued EPT for breach of contract for $57 Million dollars alleging EPT's shipping containers were faulty resulting in a hazardous chemical spill.  The Jury found for Patterson's client and awarded nothing, 2012
  • Reversal of $62 Million Dollar Judgment against Patterson's client in Federal District Court. The Fifth Circuit reversed and remainded the Trial Judge's decision only days after Patterson's argument to the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans, 2012
  • $1.0 Million Dollar Settlement during the first week of trial against the Operating partner of a hotel management business on behalf of two minority shareholders. Mr. Patterson was part of the trial team, 2011
  • $1.4 Million Verdict against the City of Houston.  Withstood multiple motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment predicated on immunity and the Texas Tort Claims Act.  Case dealt with the death of two minors in a fire when HFD could not utilize a pumper truck because of a faulty fuse.  Lead Counsel, 1999
