Attorney Robert Painter is a member of Painter Law Firm PLLC in Houston, Texas. A top-rated trial lawyer with over 20 years of legal experience, Mr. Painter focuses his practice primarily on medical malpractice and birth injury claims and helping his clients in the Greater Houston area and throughout Texas obtain the full amount of compensation they deserve following an injury or loss caused by a health care provider's negligence or wrongdoing.
A 1992 graduate of West Virginia University, Mr. Painter has always had an abiding interest in health care, and he attended Marshall University on a U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship as an M.D. candidate. He also earned his Master of Arts in Public Administration from Webster University in 1995. Prior to law school, he was a hospital administration and officer in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Painter obtained his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School in 1999, where he was heavily involved with the Baylor Law Review and served as president of the Harvey M. Richey Moot Court Society.
Upon graduation and receiving his license to practice, he joined a prominent international law firm, where he focused on health care defense. This experience serves him well as he strives to devise the most effective strategies possible for his plaintiff clients today because he has a unique insight into the industry and can better challenge the opposing counsel's case.
Throughout his career, Mr. Painter has earned numerous awards and honors from both his clients and peers alike. Along with holding an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell, he has received Superb ratings on AVVO and the Houston Bar Association bestowed him with the President's Award in 2014. In addition, Houstonia magazine voted him into its Top Lawyers list for the area from 2013 to 2017, and H Texas Magazine added him into its Top Lawyers list for the area from 2008 to 2018.
Highly active in his legal community, Mr. Painter serves on the board of directors for the Houston Bar Association, the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center the Houston Lawyer Referral Service, and the Houston Volunteer Lawyers. He has also served on a number of committees for various legal organizations for the past several years. Committed to his local community as well, Mr. Painter serves on the board of several nonprofit and educational organizations.
