At the heart of Houston, Texas, The Adamo Law Firm is home to Sam Adamo, a distinguished criminal defense attorney whose journey in law has been nothing short of inspiring. Recognized as a board-certified specialist in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he has dedicated his life to mastering the art of defending those accused of crimes. His journey through the legal system began with five transformative years at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he tackled cases ranging from DWIs to capital murders. His prowess led to the creation of the White Collar Special Crimes Division, a testament to his leadership and skill, until 1976 when he ventured into establishing his own practice.
Mr. Adamo’s track record is adorned with victories, having secured dismissals and not guilty verdicts across the full spectrum of criminal cases. His proficiency has attracted a diverse clientele, from individuals and corporations to the Police Union. A proud alumnus of South Texas College of Law Houston, he launched his legal career in Texas in 1971 and is authorized to practice in several prestigious courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. His academic journey began with a B.A. from Saint Louis University in 1964, and he is also fluent in Spanish, enhancing his ability to connect with a broader community.
An upstanding figure in the legal circle, Mr. Adamo is a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. His commitment extends to active participation in numerous legal associations such as the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Association and the National College for DUI Defense.
As a founding member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association, Mr. Adamo’s contributions to the field have earned him a "Superb" score on Avvo, an AV Preeminent peer-review rating* through Martindale-Hubbell and recognition as one of the Top 40 Under 40 and Top 100 Criminal Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association, among other honors.
