Samantha Martinez

Samantha has practiced Labor & Employment law for 25 years, and has been Board-certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for nearly 20 years. She is the co-author of a law school textbook, Experiencing Employment Discrimination Law (1st ed. 2021, 2nd ed. 2026).  She represents executives and employees in disputes with their current and former employers in the following ways:

• Reviewing and negotiating severance and employment agreements.
• Filing EEOC or TWC charges and lawsuits for retaliation, discrimination, harassment, pay, overtime, and benefits.  
• Helping employees manage medical issues at work, including requests for accommodations and leave.
• Assisting clients with claims involving pregnancy and leave discrimination.
• Coaching employees who are struggling with some aspect of their jobs.
• Mediating legal disputes or conflicts between company employees.

A former rape crisis counselor, Samantha also has special expertise representing victims of sexual harassment, abuse, and assault.  

Samantha also represents employers, with special expertise representing airlines in disputes with their labor unions.
