Serena E. Hudson is a highly regarded attorney in Texas, focusing on family law, including divorce, child custody and support cases. Working with Toombs Imel & Associates, PLLC, in Houston, Texas, her legal practice covers a broad area, serving clients in Greater Houston counties such as Harris, Montgomery, Fort Bend, Galveston and Brazoria, and extends to other significant counties like Collin, Tarrant, Dallas and Bexar. Her commitment to her clients is evident in her handling of complex, contested family law matters with a meticulous and compassionate approach.
Born and raised in Houston, Ms. Hudson pursued her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained a B.F.A. in studio art. Her legal journey began at the South Texas College of Law Houston, where she graduated with a J.D. in December 2017. During her law school tenure, she was an active member of the Varsity Moot Court team, enhancing her skills in advocacy, legal writing and litigation through national competitions.
Initially attracted to the legal field through her interest in the legal dimensions of fine art, Ms. Hudson found her true calling in family law. This realization came during her coursework in family law and marital property, which led her to focus her career in this area. Prior to joining her current firm, she gained valuable experience as a law clerk in diverse legal sectors, including family law, mass tort litigation and fine arts litigation.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Hudson is deeply involved in her local community. She is an active member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association and participates in various civic activities that enhance her connection and contribution to society. Her accolades include recognition by ReviewIt Magazine as one of the top lawyers in 2018, several CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for academic excellence, and notable achievements in moot court competitions, including being a finalist and winning Best Brief at the National Health Law Moot Court Competition.
