Tammy Simien Moon

As a partner at Schlanger Silver LLP in Houston, Texas, Tammy Simien Moon offers legal counsel to individuals and families throughout the state in numerous family law matters. She focuses her practice on family law, estate planning, probate and guardianship. She provides guidance to clients with clarity and compassion during one of the most challenging times in their lives. 

With nearly three decades of experience in the legal field, Ms. Moon is widely respected for her depth of knowledge and leadership in family law. She advises clients on matters involving divorce, custody, child welfare, and estate planning and related matters, working to achieve solutions that protect families and their long-term interests.

Ms. Moon earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston in 1993, and she went on to pursue her legal studies at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 1996. Later, she completed her family law mediation certification at the South Texas College of Law Houston in 1998, which improved her ability to resolve disputes through both litigation and other methods. Ms. Moon currently serves as chair of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Active in her legal community, Ms. Moon is licensed to practice law in Texas and maintains professional affiliations, including membership in the State Bar of Texas (Family Law Council and Family Law Section), the Texas Family Law Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and also serves on the board of directors of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists.

Outside her practice, Ms. Moon is one of the founders of The Houston Family Law Group, an organization dedicated to mentoring younger attorneys. She has also served in numerous leadership roles within bar associations and currently serves as treasurer of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Texas Chapter.
