After his undergraduate degree, Mr. Buzbee started his career in the military, where he was an honor graduate for having the highest leadership score out of 200 other Marine lieutenants. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Mr. Buzbee graduated from Texas A&M University. He pursued his legal studies at the University of Houston Law Center and received his Juris Doctor in 1997. In law school, he was the managing editor of the Houston Law Review and graduated summa cum laude. Moreover, he was inducted into the Order of the Coif, the Order of the Barristers and the Order of the Barons.

The Texas Aggie Bar Association named Mr. Buzbee to the Aggie Lawyer of the Year list, and he has an Avvo rating of 10/10. He has been featured on the cover of The New York Times Magazine and is the subject of a biography titled "Tony Buzbee: Defining Moments" by Michael Lee Lanning.
