Ms. Burgower, a native Houstonian, is a Plan II graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, 1976. Following her undergraduate studies, she pursued her law degree at the Bates College of Law, University of Houston, and was admitted to the Bar in 1979. She became board-certified in the practice of Family Law in 1985 and has concentrated her practice in this area since that time. Ms. Burgower is the Immediate Past Chair of the State Bar of Texas and serves in the Family Law Section. She is also a member of the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists, Burta Raborn Inns of Court, International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, as well as a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She has held leadership positions, including past president of the Association of Women Attorneys, Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists and Burta Rhodes Raborn Family Inns of Court. She is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Burgower has successfully represented both men and women, mothers and fathers and has dealt with complex property cases and jury cases. She was successful in obtaining a $3,000,000.00 plus jury award for a spousal tort, and has negotiated for corporate officers as well as their wives. Ms. Burgower lectures frequently for the State Bar of Texas, South Texas College of Law, and The University of Texas at Austin Law School.
